IMPROVING SQUATTING MECHANICS
As a rule of thumb for dedicated Crossfitters, we all must practice checking our egos at the door and NOT try to be heroes all the time. Getting great times and topping the charts feels very good, however, doing so without proper technique is counter-productive.
PROPER TECHNIQUE is the mechanism by which potential human energy and strength are translated into real work capacity. Finding a balance between technique and intensity are one the keys to getting optimal results.
The ability to maintain “control” at higher speeds must be trained and as you develop better technique and control at higher speeds, your power output will increase!
CONTROL(GOOD TECHNIQUE) + INTENSITY = POWER
So, based on a lot of our weaknesses(yes, overhead squatting – which leads to exposure of poor squatting foundations), here is a great video by KStar on how to improve those weak hips. Enjoy and keep on working hard!
